Sikhs of Syracuse, NY participate in the Prayer Vigil for the Charleston massacre-2On June 20, 2015 Zion Hill World Harvest Baptist Church, Syracuse, NY hosted a interfaith prayer vigil in the afternoon for the nine people killed at the Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston during a prayer serviceon June 17, 2015. The Sikhs of the Sikh Foundation of Syracuse, Liverpool, NY and others from surrounding areas joined in solidarity with members of the Church in prayer and to reflect on the horror of the recent massacre. S.Mohinder Singh (pictured above on left) spoke about the lives of the nine innocent lives taken away at the AME Church in Charleston, SC. Other Sikhs who spoke at the prayer service included Dr.Baljinder Singh (pictured above meeting one of the Church members) and S.Ralph Singh. Members of the Zion Hill Baptist Church genuinely appreciated the camaradire and gesture of sincere empathy by the members of the local Sikh community at this juncture.
