Presentation on the Sikh Faith to students at Rutgers University, NJ

S.Kavneet Singh current president and representative of the American Sikh Council (ASC), formerly known as World Sikh Council – America Region (WSC-AR) was invited to speak and do a presentation on the Sikh Faith to the students at Rutgers University, Camden, New Jersey on April 26, 2016.

The audience of approximately two dozen students taking a class on religious studies showed a keen interest in learning more about an understudied religion like the Sikh Faith. The lecture included a Q & A where students asked many interesting questions from the significance of the dastaar (turban) to human rights issues. Thanks to Prof Karapanagiotis and Teaching Assistant Jim Shay who were instrumental in reaching out to the American Sikh Council to educate the students and further increase awareness about the Sikh heritage.
