This year American Sikh Council’s Annual Panthic Meeting will be hosted by the Sikh Council of Central California (SCCC) and will be held at the ‘Sikh Center of the Pacific Coast Gurdwara Sahib’, Selma, California. Please mark your calendars for the weekend of October 7 – 9, 2016. The address is 2211 Highland Ave, Selma, CA 93662 (approx.10 miles South of Fresno, CA).
American Sikh Council (ASC) – the voice of Sikhs in America, is the umbrella organization representative of Sikhs in the United States. It is an elected body of Sikh Gurdwaras and institutions. Currently 71 Gurdwaras and other Sikh institutions across the nation are members of ASC. The major governing purpose of the organization is to represent the collective view of Sikhs in the United States. ASC works to promote Sikh interests at the national and international level focusing on issues of advocacy, education, and well-being of humankind.
This annual national level panthic meeting is a time when all members will get together and discuss many important issues facing Sikhs in America as well in the old homeland. As a representative of your local Gurdwara, your participation is very important. The meeting is open for all the representatives of the Sikh Gurdwara Sahibs and Sikh Organizations in the US, who are passionate and serious for the Sikh causes and would like to contribute their views. Last year, the yearly meeting was held on November 13-15, 2015 at the Sikh Religious Society of Chicago Gurdwara Sahib, Palatine, IL.
To assure proper arrangements for everyone coming to share their views, please help ASC with the name and contact information of the representative attending the meeting by registering up below. ASC will assure time for every representative wishing to add their views to the information that has been shared till then. To keep order, the time will be allocated in order of the registration of the guests. All those who wish to provide input on Panthic issues on behalf of their organizations please register as early as possible.

Saturday Morning: 10/8/16
9:00 AM Late arrival registration.
9:15 AM Welcome by host, SCCC representative. Short introductions by guests/members in the audience.
9:45 AM Highlight of ASC’s continued effort (Topics – Interfaith, Sikh Awareness Conferences, Bullying, Boy Scouts – Jamboree, Sikh Genocide, Conflict Resolution Services and Global Sikh Council).

11:30 AM Knowledge/ideas sharing of services being offered by local Gurdwaras/organizations
12:30 PM Lunch Break
1:30 PM Sharing of topics proposed on Friday evening (including Bi-lingual Sikh Pracharaks, Training needs for Sikh youth in Gurmukhi and Sikhi etc.)
2:30 PM Use of media to teach Sikhi topics to the youth.
3:00 PM Detail Description of Proposed Projects (what needs to be done, alternatives ways to do it, best alternative , ways to empower teams, and resource requirements, sources for funding etc.)

12:00 Noon Participate in the Gurdwara Sahib Divan followed by Langer and Departure
– Report and Vote of Thanks.
