Rutgers University, Camden, NJ holds Rutgers Day on April 29, 2017

On Saturday April 29, 2017 Rutgers University, Camden, New Jersey organized and hosted an open house called ‘Rutgers Day’ for all incoming freshman for the fall 2017 classes, parents and the general public – whoever is interested in joining the University.

Multiple exhibits were held to educate the visitors on the courses available but there were also exhibits held by various student associations. There were over 55 different exhibits, hands-on activities, demonstrations and performances throughout the day.

One of the exhibits set up was by the Sikh Student Association. Thousands of visitors visited the booth and the Sikh students ended up tying over 100 turbans and ran out of turbans and brochures very quickly. The venue was held from 10 am – 4 pm.

President S.Ramneet Singh and event coordinator S.Karanveer Singh ran the exhibit with the help of other Sikh students on the Camden campus. The Sikh exhibit was rated one of the most popular exhibits by the visitors and students alike.

The super active Sikh Student Association is constantly doing outreach programs on a regular basis.

More than 100,000 people attended the state university’s three campuses to take part in the annual spring event.
