Singh-Naad Radio-TV station based out of the United Kingdom hosted an online International Competition for Sikh children, from ages 4 – 12. The topics covered by the competitors were Gurbani, Shabad Vichaar, Kavishri and katha, which they recited. The time given to prepare and perform for the competition was 30 days. There were over 250 participants who sent their performances via videos, from Punjab and all over the world.
The competition was judged by a panel of four judges over a period of three days. The judges were Jasbir Kaur from the US, Nirmal Singh from Germany, Navjodh Singh Rabbabi from Punjab and Prabhdeep Singh from UK. Prizes were given to thirty (30) finalists and winners who were picked in various categories. Additionally, certificates were also given to all the participants.
The American Sikh Council (ASC) sponsored the program to inspire and empower the next generation across the diaspora. The final competition and program was viewed by several thousand Sikhs across the world on August 30, 2020.
