American Sikh Council (ASC) representative Kavneet Singh co-organized and participated in a Faith and Beliefs Day event held at the Pine Hill Scouting reservation, located in Pine Hill, NJ on Oct 2, 2021.
The Christian with several of their denominations, Jewish and the Sikh set up their exhibits, while displaying brochures, workbooks, emblems/medallions, religious patches, trifolds and held interactive fun activities for the visiting Scouts.
The Sikh exhibit held by ASC was the most popular as Scouts from the ages of 5 – 12 lined up to get turbans tied. Some Scouts patiently took their time to pick their favorite color. Most, respectfully requested that they would like to keep the turbans as souvenirs and some wanted to learn to tie them on their own later. The Scouts were curious and asked many questions. Kavneet Singh gave Sikh Scout patches to those who participated.
Over 35 Scouts participated in the event which ran from 8 am till 2 pm. The event ended with a collective Interfaith worship service.
